Charlotteville Natural Treasures 2017

Every year as part of the Tobago Heritage Festival, the community of Charlotteville celebrates
its traditions and rituals. Hundreds of patrons converge in the small fishing village to dance the
cocoa, see the Washing of the Dead Bed, squeeze the “batty mill” for cane juice and hear the
sweet sounds of tamboo bamboo, among other things. Patrons were also invited to view the stage
production, “Tankala- Enough is Enough”, which centred around preventing crime and violence
which continues to plague Trinidad and Tobago.
